Make Google Canada My Homepage
If you are living in or traveling to Canada you may wish to make Google Canada your homepage so that you can easily search for Canadian webpages. The Google Canada homepage also has an option to quickly make your Google language French if that is what you prefer to read in. Logging into Google will allow you to access even more features such as search history and suggested searches.
Apple Safari
A the top of the Safari window find the Safari tab and open preferences
Find the general tab and navigate to that.
Where it says homepage section enter http://google.ca/
Firefox
- Navigate to http://google.ca/ in a new tab.
- Drag the tab over to the home button and drop it onto the button
- A window will appear asking you to confirm that you want to make Google Canada your homepage, select yes.
Or you can do it the other way. Simply open the Firefox browser and click on the three horizontal bars on top of each other.
In the drop down click on the options tab.
Select General. and in the Homepage field enter your Google.ca address. Make sure to click use current page and then click OK.
Google Chrome
By default Google Chrome does not have homepages by default. They now have starting tabs with the first tab being your most visited websites. By following these steps you will once again activate homepages.
At the top click the three line button for the menu.
Find the settings option and click it.
Scroll to the section titled appearance.
Find the Show Home Button and click it. This will cause the home image to once again appear in your menu bar.
Right below the Show Home Button option a box will allow you to input a URL for a homepage, type in http://google.ca/
Internet Explorer
At the top of page click the Tools option.
Under that menu navigate to Internet Options.
In the general section you will see an option for homepage, input http://google.ca/
Hit the apply button and then click okay in order to confirm your changes.
