How to Enable/ Disable Two-Step Verification in Yahoo?

Yahoo Mail offers two-step verification as an additional layer to security. When you access your account via a new device, or through a web browser, the security code will be sent to your registered number. By doing this, no one can gain access to your account or misuse it. Follow the below instructions to disable or enable Two-Step Verification in Yahoo Mail.

STEPS TO ENABLE TWO STEP VERIFICATION IN YAHOO
Sign in to Yahoo Mail by opening a supported web browser from your computer.
After logging into Yahoo Mail, click on your Profile Photo/ Name located in the upper-right corner. This will open a drop down menu on your screen.
You will need to click the Account information to go to the Section of your Yahoo Mail account.
Click on the Account information section. This will take to the Section security of your Yahoo Mail account.
NOTICE: You may be asked to enter your Yahoo Mail password in order to access the Account Security Section.

After you have accessed the Account security section, scroll down to reach the Two-Step verification section. In this section you can choose to use the Security key or a phone number to protect your account.
The Security Key option allows you to sign in using your personal security code. On the other hand, you can access your account via the Telephone number option by verifying the code that was sent to you. Depending on which option you choose, the following steps will be taken:
Security Key Option

Before you proceed with the steps below, make sure you have connected the Safety Key to your device.

Click on the Learn More link next to the Security Key .
Next, click the Setup key
Click on the Continue button to continue the two-step verification process with the Security Key.
NOTICE: The SecurityKey option can be used as a beta version, but you may experience problems until the stable version is released.

Phone Number Option

Follow these steps if you choose the phone number option

First, click on the Slider button next to the Phone number option in the Two-step verification.
Next, enter your mobile number and click on the Send SMS Or Contact me . You will receive a message via SMS or Call to your phone.
Once you have received the verification code enter it in the field provided and hit the Validate button.
On the next screen, you will see ” Two-step verification” message. To return to the Account Security page, click on the link.
These steps will allow you to create an app password in order to access your Yahoo Mail account via certain email clients and applications.
Go to the account security
Click on the Generate app password at the bottom of this page
Next, choose the email app you want to use from the Select an app”menu. Click on the Generate link next to it.
Copy the code, then go to Yahoo! Account on the email app.
You will be asked to change your password as soon as you open an email in the app.
You will need to paste the code that you have copied into the field and then save it.
You will now be required to enter a verification code that was sent to your registered number whenever you sign in to Yahoo Mail using a new browser or device.
Now that you are familiar with the steps to enable Two-Step Verification in Yahoo Mail, you can enable it whenever and wherever you want.

TO DISABLE TWOSTEP VERIFICATION FEATURE in YAHOO MAIL
To sign in to Yahoo Mail, click on the Profile Photo/ Name located at the upper-right corner.
Next, click on the Account info and then on the Account security tab.
NOTICE: You may be asked to enter the password in order to access the Account Security Section.

After you have reached the Account Security section you will need scroll down to reach the Two Step Verification
To disable the option, click the slider next the 2-step verificationfeature.
The Two-step verification feature will be disabled when you click on the slider option.
