How to restore your lost homepage on any browser

Are you having trouble resetting your homepage on one of the most popular web browsers? Here’s how.

Have you ever lost your homepage? Although it isn’t difficult to go to your old homepage, it can be annoying to have to do it each time you open your browser. You might have accidentally installed malware, or altered the settings to make your old homepage disappear.

Chrome

  1. Navigate tochrome://settings/.
  2. Select from the left-hand menu to chooseAppearance.
  3. Allow theClick on Show HomeSetting.
  4. Choose theCustomOption.
  5. TheEnter your custom web addressIn the field, type in the URL of the webpage you wish to use as your homepage.

In Edge

  1. Navigate toedge://settings/profiles/.
  2. Select from the left-hand menu to chooseAppearance.
  3. Scroll downModify the toolbar.
  4. Turn on the if you wishClick the Show Home buttonOption.
  5. Below are theClick the Show Home buttonsection, click the button to the right of the emptyEnter URLEnter the URL of the webpage you would like to use as your homepage. Enter the URL of the webpage you wish to use as your homepage.
  6. ClickSave.

 

Firefox

  1. Navigate toAbout:preferences.
  2. Select the option in the left sidebar.HomeSection.
  3. Next, expand the dropdown menuHomepage and new windowsSelectURLs customized.
  4. ThePaste a URLIn the field, type the URL of the webpage that you would like to be your homepage.
  5. Close toPreferencesPage when completed.

Safari

  1. Then, open thePreferencesPage.
  2. Click theGeneralSection.
  3. TheHomepageIn the field, enter the URL of the webpage you would like to be your homepage.
  4. Both must be setNew windows are now openAndWith the new tabs openedTo theHomepageSetting.
